Play Ball!

The Stony Point Little League kicked off another season of great youth baseball on Saturday, April 22.  Around 200 Little League ballplayers from Tee Ball to the Majors participated in a parade led by Stony Point's Wayne House Fire Department.  Local youth Niko Kumbo threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Several local dignitaries were present including members of the Stony Point Town Board Paul Joachim, Todd Rose, and Mike Puccio.  Superintendent of Highways Karl Javenes and County Legislator Doug Jobson also attended to help usher in another year of baseball and softball.

The Stony Point Little League Board also honored board members and coaches Kevin O'Connor, Mike Bruno, and Brian Coyle.  The whole SPLL family also paid tribute to longtime coaches and volunteers Thomas Gallagher and Tom Robinson.  These five men represent the highest standard of volunteerism and their long service on behalf of children of Stony Point deserves praise and recognition.

Despite the cloudy weather, this Opening Day Ceremony was a huge success.  Thanks to all those that made this 2023 Opening Day great!
